Due to what has been happening around these past few days I knew we really have a fuel shortage problem but didn’t think it was going to be this bad. I know I sound stupid when I say this but all this time I assumed that all the emergency service had private fuel stations.
According to My London News on Friday 25 September one paramedic had to travel to 5 petro station before finding fuel for her ambulance, this is something I never thought would ever happen here in United Kingdom.
Other key workers also commented on how the issue is affecting them. Imagine calling the police, ambulance or the fire department in case of emergency and they can’t come on time due to the lack of fuel.
Please don’t panic buy, think of how it’s affecting the whole country. I know we are all selfish but think what would happen if your house catches fire or your child is sick and needs an ambulance. I do understand that it’s hard to try and stop yourself from doing so but you have to. According to some reports the reason why there is fuel shortage is not because of the lack of drivers but it can be traced to people buying fuel just for the sack of buying it.
Hopefully this issue would be resolved in a couple of weeks so everything can go back to normal, but for now I ask you again please do not be selfish, think of how your actions might affect others.
