It is with sincere concern that we report on the unfortunate incident that occurred on New Year’s Day in East London. A 24-year-old man was rushed to the hospital after being involved in a hit and run outside a pub on Wood Lane in Dagenham. Our thoughts are with the man and his loved ones at this time, and we hope for a speedy recovery.
The London Ambulance Service did an admirable job in treating the man for injuries that, thankfully, are not life-threatening. It is truly distressing to think that the responsible party fled the scene, but we have faith in the police’s efforts to bring them to justice.
A 38-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon, and a crime scene has been established as the investigation continues.
